Lithium ion battery electrode burr detection equipment is a key quality inspection equipment to ensure battery safety. It is used to detect metal burrs generated at the cutting edge of the electrode at high speed and high precision after the electrode is divided and before winding, to prevent internal short circuits caused by burrs piercing through the diaphragm.

The standard workflow mainly includes the following steps:

Automatic feeding and positioning: After slitting, the pole piece roll or single pole piece is automatically transported to the inspection station, and positioned by high-precision fixtures or conveyor belts to ensure that the edge of the pole piece to be inspected is within the optimal field of view of the inspection camera.

High speed image acquisition and processing: High resolution linear or planar CCD cameras are used, combined with specific angle light sources (such as backlight, coaxial light), to perform high-speed scanning and imaging of the cutting edge of the polarizer, obtaining clear edge images. The image processing system analyzes images in real-time and accurately identifies and calculates the height, length, and other dimensional information of burrs through advanced algorithms.

Automatic discrimination and sorting: The system compares the measurement results with the preset safety threshold and automatically determines whether the product is "qualified" or "unqualified". For pole pieces that exceed the standard, the equipment will automatically trigger sorting mechanisms (such as labeling, blowing to remove, or mechanical arm grabbing) to separate them into qualified products on the production line, achieving 100% online full inspection.

The core value of this process lies in replacing inefficient and easily missed manual microscope inspections with non-contact, fully automated testing, greatly improving detection efficiency and reliability. Its precise identification ability can eliminate the risk of internal short circuits in batteries caused by burrs from the source, which is a key quality barrier to improve battery safety and production yield.
